Our Nursery

Baby Room

3 months - 16 months

Our baby rooms are bright, cheerful and stimulating, offering a caring environment with a focus on sensory experiences.

Children are encouraged to explore the world of colour, shape and texture through the use of natural light, toys, adult interaction and lots of care and support

As children begin to explore, they will gain confidence and then be able to participate in a wide range of educational and fun activities, all of which will be planned in advance and will include colouring, painting, messy play, singing etc., to create a fun-filled day for your child.

Tinnies

16 months - 2 years

This brand new space is designed for our babies who are now walking steadily and ready to explore lots of new kinds of activities.

As well as their own dedicated space to be a bit more adventorous, our Tinies still benefit from access to our sensory room and of course daily garden time.

Having this space allows more freedom for these pre-toddlers while ensuring our littleiest babies are safe space.

Toddlers

2 years - 3 years

This area is  full of busy energy as by this stage, your toddler will be able to experience a wider range of educational yet fun activities that have been carefully selected to stimulate their ever expanding minds.

When it comes to potty training, we will encourage your child to be as independent as possible. All we ask is that you bring in lots of spare clothes in case they have a little accident, so they will have their own clothes ready to be changed into.

Pre-school

3 years - 5 years

During free play sessions, children are encouraged to be independent and to make their own choices from a wide range of different activities. A structured day is centred on individual learning, this, coupled with lots of fresh air, provides a busy day for all in the Pre-School Rooms.

At the end of their time in pre-school, the children will have increased levels of confidence and be socially interactive, ready for a smooth transition to full-time schooling

Nurture Room

In 2023 we launched our very own Nurture Room, this is a dedicated special place for all our special children. It can be used by all children but ts focus is our SEND children, we’ve invested in various specific resources and sensory items to create a nurturing, caring and calm space for our little treasures.

Meet The Team

Curriculum

We follow the Early Years Foundation Stage (aka the EYFS) which is a statutory framework, covering learning and development from the day your child is born until the end of their first year at school. Leapfrog Day Nursery provides all children with a firm foundation on which to build future academic, social and emotional success. We do this by ensuring the Early Years Foundation Stage themes are embedded in all aspects of what we do. The four guiding principles are as follows:

UNIQUE CHILD

Every child is a unique child, who is constantly learning and can be resilient, capable, confident and self-assured.

LEARNING AND DEVELOPMENT

Children develop and learn in different ways and at different rates. The framework covers the education and care of all children in early years provision, including children with special educational needs and disabilities.

POSITIVE RELATIONSHIPS

Children learn to be strong and independent through positive relationships.

ENABLING ENVIRONMENTS

Children learn and develop well in enabling environments, in which their experiences respond to their individual needs and there is a strong partnership between practitioners and parents and/or carers.
